The Life and Times of Totally Tyler

Auntie Richard knows all of the best restaurants in the city so of course he was my go-to guy when I needed a suggestion for a great brunch spot when Brock came to visit. We met Uncle Richard at Sheridan Square and had a pre-brunch cocktail at the legendary Stonewall Inn before he led us to Perilla.

To my credit, I at least said I should go home. I quietly stared out of the taxi window and drunkenly watched the bustling city whiz by. The street numbers sank lower and lower as we descended into the depths of Manhattan.

As I walked down Fifth Avenue, I stopped and looked at the window display at Gucci. High fashion can be breathtaking. Gucci’s newest season is pure perfection. I smiled until my eyes fell upon my own reflection.

The scene: Dark, sexy The Bourgeois Pig in the East Village. It’s Saturday night, and a group of my friends were lounging on a plush sofa huddled around some fabulous fondue and delicious champagne cocktails.

I like to swear. I use curse words often. Sometimes, when I’m having a bad day, there is nothing like letting go with a “shit, damn, motherfucker!” As the intensely articulated words flow from my lips, I feel a satisfying release.
